The best products aren’t born in boardroom brainstorms. They are built out of necessity when you live the problem every single day.
When I moved to Norway, I didn’t just study integration on paper — I walked through it. I felt the daily friction every newcomer knows: dense administrative letters, grocery labels and allergen tags, municipality rules, and the steep curve of learning norsk.
As a Product Owner and systems architect, my brain couldn’t just accept the chaos. I opened the laptop and started building the solution I needed myself.
That is how VEI (“path” in Norwegian) was born.
VEI is not an abstract pitch deck
VEI is a modular, AI-first ecosystem shaped by lived experience — to help people adapt, learn the language, and navigate Norwegian society with less friction:
- Scan / Translate — computer vision and context-aware translation to decode official letters, product labels, signs, and everyday text.
- Språk — language learning tied to real situations, not generic textbook phrases.
- Kommune — a personalized guide for local municipality services and community life.
Building VEI while going through integration myself taught one hard lesson: when you combine real human pain with serious tech (AI, RAG, computer vision), you ship products that actually matter.
One operating rule
Whether as a founder or as a Product / Operations lead inside a company, I keep one rule: identify the friction, design the architecture, execute fast.
I’m currently refining the MVP, exploring partnerships with kommuner, and connecting with the Norwegian tech ecosystem. See demos and pitch materials on Projects — live hub at vei.axi.so — plus background on About.

FAQ
Why build VEI instead of waiting for perfect status?
Necessity doesn’t wait for paperwork. Lived daily friction was the brief; shipping an MVP was the only honest response.
What makes VEI different from a generic AI chatbot?
It is modular and grounded in immigrant reality in Norway: vision for documents and labels, contextual translation, Norwegian learning, and commune navigation — not a single chat box for everything.
Who is this article for?
